Lil wayne ได้ออกจาก Cash Money แล้ว เนื่องจาก Birdman หรือเจ้าของ Cash Money และ young money ไม่ยอมปล่อยอัลบั้มใหม่ของเขาในนาม “Tha Carter V”  และฟ้อง Birdman ให้เขาออกจากสัญญาและทวงเงิน 51ล้านดอลล่า ซึ่งแปลงเป็นเงินบาทแล้วจะเท่ากับ 1,662 ล้านบาท โดยจุดเริ่มต้นมันอยู่ที่ อัลบั้ม Tha Carter V จะวางจำหน่ายในวันที่ 9 ธันวา แต่ในวันที่ 4 ธันวา เขาได้มาแถลงว่า เขาไม่พอใจค่าย cash money เพราะทางค่ายไม่ยอมปล่อยอัลบั้ม และเขาเปรียบเทียบตัวเองอย่างกับ “นักโทษ”
